Description:
Skate Canada is the largest figure skating governing body in the world, providing standards
and rules for the figure skating activities of their members. The Association qualifies and appoints judges, referees and other officials, conducts training seminars for skaters and coaches, provides financial support to national team athletes and disseminates information concerning figure skating to the general public. Skate Canada also promotes the National Coaching Certification Program and organizes free skating and synchronized team skating competitions and the annual MasterCard Skate Canada International. From time to time Skate Canada also hosts selected ISU skating events.

Description:
The staff of the BC/YT Section Office handle numerous tasks throughout the year that act as a catalyst for the Provincial programs, seminars and schools that take place around the province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. With a great number of combined years of skating experience, the group help bring together the many bodies and factions that make up skating in BC.
